Introduction
Welcome to Rose County, a Red Dead Redemption 2 roleplay server hosted on RedM.
This rulebook is designed to ensure a fair, immersive, and enjoyable experience for all players.
By joining our server, you agree to adhere to these rules. We aim to foster a respectful and creative community where roleplay comes first.
General Rules
Respect All Players: All interactions should be conducted with respect. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, and any form of abuse will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disciplinary action.
No Cheating: The use of hacks, exploits, or any form of cheating is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.
Follow Government Instructions: The Government ensures the smooth running of the server. Their instructions must be followed at all times.
Report Issues: Any bugs, exploits, or rule violations should be reported to the Government team through the designated reporting channels.
Nepotism: The act of showing bias or favor to friends or colleagues in positions of power is prohibited.
Roleplaying Rules
Stay In Character: Players must remain in character at all times while in-game. Use period-appropriate language and behaviors.
Metagaming: Using out-of-character information to influence in-character actions is strictly prohibited.
ForcedRP: Forcing actions on other players without giving them the opportunity to respond or consent is not allowed. All interactions should be collaborative.
FailRP: Failing to act reasonably and realistically within the roleplay context is prohibited.
No OOC Talk: Keep all in-character (IC) conversations separate from out-of-character (OOC) discussions.
No Combat Logging: Logging out to avoid roleplay or consequences is not allowed.
No Toxicity: Racism, transphobia, homophobia, or any other forms of toxic behavior are not tolerated.
Character Creation
Realistic Characters: Characters should fit within the historical context of the Red Dead Redemption universe. Avoid creating characters that are unrealistic or lore-breaking.
Character Names: Use appropriate and period-correct names. Offensive or troll names are not allowed.
Backstory: Develop a detailed backstory for your character, outlining their history, motivations, and personality. This will enrich your roleplaying experience and interactions with others.
Original Characters: No child characters, erotic roleplay, or names of historical figures, celebrities, or video game characters. All characters must be original.
Serious Roleplay: This is a serious roleplay server, Use of Discord VC while IC is allowed, under certain conditions. If caught using Discord VCs while in county to coordinate attacks, robberies, any group meetups, or otherwise meta-gamed information, is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action based on the severity of the case.
In-Game Behavior
Roleplay Quality: Strive for high-quality roleplay. Engage in detailed and immersive interactions, avoiding one-liners and aimless behavior.
No Random Killing (RDM): Do not attempt to “kill” or knock out other players without a valid in-character reason. Random acts of violence disrupt the roleplaying experience.
No Random Vehicle Violence (VDM): Do not attempt to “kill” or harm other players with a vehicle such as a Horse, Wagon or Boat.
Respect Property: Avoid damaging or stealing property without proper roleplay context and justification.
Proper Initiation: Ensure that if your character intends to perform criminal activities such as kidnapping, murder, or robbing, proper initiation is used.
FearRP: Ensure that if you are under gunpoint and outnumbered, you do not attempt to fight back. You should fear for your life.
No Exploiting/Cheating: Exploiting game mechanics or cheating in any form is strictly forbidden.
No Power-Hungry Behavior: Just because you have a position of authority does not mean you can abuse it. Be fair and considerate to all players and act realistically at all times.
New Life Rule: In PVP, If you get downed AND your head is removed from your body, you must forget the events of the last 30 minutes. An attacker can choose for you to remember the events by leaving your head attatched to your body.
Toxic PVP: Once a player, or player group, has been knocked out/downed, the attacking party should cease all attacks and avoid excessively mutilating the character(s).
Interactions and Conflict
Consent in Roleplay: For any Intense/Traumatic roleplay Scenarios, ensure that all parties involved are comfortable with the roleplay and have consented before enacting any scenes. If a person is not comfortable with, or has not consented to the scene, or a depiction of a scene, the party attempting the intense scene needs to “Fade to Black” (FTB).
Conflict Resolution: Attempt to resolve conflicts through roleplay first. If a resolution to a conflict cannot be reached, reach out to a member of the Government to mediate the situation. If a government member is not contacted to mediate a prolonged conflict, government intervention will be assigned to end the conflict.
Kidnapping and Hostage Situations: Such scenarios must be well-planned and agreed upon by all parties involved. Ensure that the roleplay is enriching for everyone.
No Fake Hostages: Hostages must be real, actual players, and not staged, or “Local” hostages.
No Vigilantism: Do not interfere with law enforcement unless it’s your role. Do not chase after gun shots you may hear if you are not involved in the scene.
Erotic Roleplay: If you wish to have romantic, erotic, relations in the county, this is allowed, within reason. All ERP encounters need to be consented to by both players, and ALL ERP interactions need to be behind closed/lockable doors, outside of populated areas.
Server Economy
Fair Trade: Engage in fair and realistic trade practices. Avoid scamming or engaging in unrealistic economic behavior. When trading, to avoid being labeled as a scammer, inform the buyer of your profit margins on the sale if requested.
Jobs and Professions: Choose and roleplay jobs and professions in a manner consistent with the skills and knowledge your character would realistically have.
Leave of Absence: If you intend to take a leave of absence from any business or role of which, other players depend on you for, you must announce it in the relevant channels.
No USD'ing: Do not sell your in-game items for real-life currency. It is against CFX and Rockstar Terms and Conditions to allow this.
Law Enforcement and Crime
Criminal Activities: Engage in criminal activities with proper roleplay and realism. Avoid unrealistic crime sprees.
Posee Membership Limitations: A Posse must not engage in conflict or robbery with more than 4 other colleagues (5 TOTAL) and must not exceed a membership of 10 total players.
Law Enforcement Roleplay: Lawmen should roleplay (8969) their duties with integrity and fairness. Corruption should be rare and roleplayed with depth and context.
Law Response Conduct: Lawmen should not patrol, engage or arrive at a scene with more than 7 colleagues.
Jail and Punishments: Accept the consequences of your character’s actions, including jail time and punishments. Time served in Sisika Jail may be used as an alternative to banning.
Crime Timing: No crimes can be committed 30 minutes before a server restart or 15 minutes after a server restart.
Player Robbery Conduct: You may only steal from a player once every 60 minutes and the same person must not be robbed by you within the same 24 hours. Additionally, Medical personnel and new players are immune from being robbed. When stealing from a player, you can only take their equipped weapons, non-food and hydration items and a maximum of $10.00 cash.
Business Robbery Conduct: You can only rob a general store once every 60 minutes and the same store must not be robbed by you within the same 24 hours.
Bank Robbery Conduct: You can only rob a bank once every 4 hours and the same bank must not be robbed by you within the same 24 hours. A minimum of 1 hostage is required and a maximum of 3 hostages to initiate a bank robbery.
Killing After Robbery: Do not kill or knock out someone after robbing them unless they give you a valid RP reason.
Body Disposal: Do not dump bodies in places where player doctors cannot access.
Clear Initiation: Ensure sufficient initiation before engaging in criminal RP. Make it clear and explicit that the player is about to be robbed or harmed.
Communication
OOC (Out of Character) Chat: Use OOC chat sparingly and respectfully. Ensure to use correct terminology in character when refering to the "spiritual world".
Voice Chat: Ensure voice chat is immersive and fits the setting of 1886. Avoid out-of-character discussions while in-game.
Discord and Forums: Follow server rules on all associated communication platforms. Maintain a level of respect and decorum.
Government and Reporting
Reporting Issues: Use the designated channels to report rule violations, bugs, or other issues. Provide as much detail as possible to assist the Government team.
Government Decisions: Respect the decisions made by Government. They are final and aimed at maintaining server integrity.
Appealing Bans: Follow the outlined procedure for appealing bans or disciplinary actions. Provide a detailed explanation and any relevant evidence.
Consequences and Ban Policy
Warning System: Repeated minor offenses will lead to warnings. Accumulating warnings may result in temporary or permanent bans.
Temporary Bans: Significant rule violations may result in temporary bans. The duration will depend on the severity of the offense.
Permanent Bans: Severe or repeated violations will result in permanent bans. There is a Zero-Tolerance Policy for cheating, severe harassment, hate-speech, or sexual harassment of any kind.
Sisika Jail Rehabilitation: As an alternative to banning, players may serve time in Sisika Jail. For instance, a two-day ban may be replaced with 48 hours of real-time in-game jail, which can be reduced by participating in rehabilitation activities within the prison.
Updates and Changes
Rule Updates: The rules may be updated periodically. Players are expected to stay informed about any changes by regularly checking the server’s communication platforms.
Feedback: Player feedback is valuable. Use the appropriate channels to suggest improvements or changes to the rules or server features.
